The Romanian government has launched a funding program for energy storage systems, offering up to 15,000 lei for individuals with photovoltaic panels. The program, with a budget of 400 million lei, covers up to 75% of project costs. Key changes include a reduced minimum storage capacity from 12 kWh to 10 kWh and an increased cost standard from 1,250 lei/kWh to 1,500 lei/kWh. Eligibility criteria have been adjusted, allowing previous battery owners to apply and increasing the required battery lifespan from 3,000 to 5,000 cycles. The selection process will not follow a 'first come, first served' basis, but will prioritize projects based on scoring after the application period closes.
