Almost 300 varieties of honey to compete in Nektaria regional contest

The Nektaria regional competition features 284 honey varieties from 110 beekeepers, promoting local honey and consumption. Most participants are from Harghita, Covasna, and Mures counties, with entries from other regions and Hungary. Honey is evaluated by a jury based on various traits, with medals awarded for quality. This year is promising for beekeeping, but low honey consumption in Romania remains a concern. Beekeepers hope for increased demand and better prices, emphasizing the need for honey to be more accessible.
