Analiză ECOTECA: Ce tip de ambalaje returnează generația Z în campusurile universitare

In the academic year 2025-2026, over 500,000 packages were returned by students at nine universities participating in the ECO Student project. Plastic packaging dominated the returns, followed by metal. The initiative, led by ECOTECA in partnership with ING Bank Romania and TOMRA Collection Romania, saw a total of 502,789 packages returned through ten automated systems installed on campuses. The majority were plastic (59.2%), followed by metal (28.9%) and glass (11.9%). A national study indicates strong support for return systems in Romania, with accessibility being a key factor for increased participation. The results highlight the effectiveness of collection infrastructure in student environments and the potential for further expansion of the ECO Student initiative.
