Calea ferată Braşov-Sighişoara - 630 de milioane de euro pentru finanțarea modernizării liniei, de la BEI - Economica.net

The European Investment Bank has signed a €630 million financing agreement with Romania for the modernization of the Brașov-Sighișoara railway. This project, costing €2.25 billion, aims to upgrade 113 kilometers of railway, enhancing passenger and freight transport capacity while reducing travel times. The modernized line will support speeds of up to 160 km/h for passenger trains and 120 km/h for freight, benefiting around four million passengers annually. The project also includes the implementation of the European Rail Traffic Management System to improve safety and interoperability. It is expected to be completed by 2029, contributing to Romania's economic growth and sustainable transport.
