Cel mai vechi consumator de droguri din lume: Ce consuma acum 25.000 de ani
Researchers from Griffith University have discovered that a hunter-gatherer in Indonesia consumed betel nuts 25,000 years ago, making it the oldest known use of psychoactive substances. This practice predates the previously believed timeline of drug use by over 10,000 years. The study found unusual dental wear in remains of early humans, indicating they sucked on whole betel nuts, which release arecoline, a psychoactive compound. While initially thought to be a remedy for dental pain, prolonged use led to severe dental issues. This suggests that the consumption of psychoactive substances has ancient roots in human behavior.
