Comisia Europeană dă startul agriculturii 4.0: AI, roboți și soiuri rezistente la secetă pentru fermele europene

The European Commission has introduced new strategic frameworks, AgRI 2040 and Food 2040, aimed at enhancing agricultural research and innovation. These frameworks emphasize the rapid transition of lab-developed solutions to practical applications in farms. Adopted on September 8, 2026, they outline long-term goals for research and innovation in agriculture, forestry, and food systems. Key components include involving farmers and researchers in testing technologies under real conditions and supporting startups to bring research outcomes to market. AgRI 2040 focuses on various agricultural domains, while Food 2040 addresses the entire food system, promoting sustainability and local adaptation. Both strategies will be funded through the Horizon Europe program, with a significant conference planned for September 2026 to discuss priorities in agricultural research.
