The Court of Appeal in Bucharest confirmed this decision on September 10, 2026. The accident occurred on September 14, 2025, injuring a 23-year-old woman. Dumitrescu left the scene and was found 48 hours later. He cooperated with authorities and chose a simplified trial process, which led to a reduced sentence. In addition to the suspended sentence, he faces a three-year driving ban and must complete 120 hours of community service. The court emphasized that supervision and social reintegration programs would help him understand the seriousness of his actions without serving time in prison.
