The tribunal ruled the dismissal was a pretext for retaliation against his complaint. Andrew Blyth, earning €140,000 annually, expressed dissatisfaction with his bonus, leading to a brief meeting where he was informed of his job termination. The CEO, Courtenay Morison, had searched online for legitimate dismissal reasons prior to the meeting. The court found no credible evidence supporting the claim that the position was being eliminated for financial reasons, concluding that the real motive was Morison's displeasure with Blyth's bonus criticism. Blyth has since found a lower-paying job.
