Swedish developer Vastint is set to build its first hotel in Romania on the site of the former Dâmbovița shoe factory in Bucharest. The hotel will be a four-star international operation, with plans for additional apartments under consideration. The demolition of the factory, established in 1910, began last year, and Vastint has acquired nearly 2 hectares of land through various transactions. Part of the land was purchased from local entrepreneurs and families involved in the furniture and shoe industries.
