The Regional Directorate of Roads and Bridges Craiova reports that over 80% of the infrastructure for the TBM launch for the Poiana Tunnel on Section 3 of the A1 Sibiu-Pitești Highway is complete. The assembly of the tunneling machine components is scheduled to begin next month. The Poiana Tunnel, measuring 1,780 meters, will be excavated using modern TBM technology, allowing controlled and consistent work progress. WeBuild will launch the TBM from the Sibiu side due to necessary ground consolidations at the Pitești portal. Last week, WeBuild started asphalt work on an experimental section of the highway, which is crucial for determining the final asphalt mix for the entire section. Overall, physical work progress is at approximately 18%.
