Fragmentarea comerțului global ar putea reduce PIB-ul global cu 6,9%
The World Trade Organization urged member states to reform global trade rules to avoid fragmentation that could harm economic production, especially in poorer countries. The annual report highlighted that current norms struggle to keep pace with changes among major economies and rising political tensions. Economists simulated scenarios showing that a fragmented world could lead to significant declines in global GDP and exports by 2050. Conversely, strengthened multilateral cooperation could boost global GDP and exports. The WTO noted unprecedented uncertainty in trade policies, with increasing tariffs and subsidies, raising concerns about the gradual erosion of the multilateral trading system.
