Romania has dropped 12 places in the global competitiveness ranking, now ranking 61st out of 70 economies, according to IMD data. Sorin Grindeanu attributes this decline to the economic policies of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, citing tax increases and record energy prices as major factors. He criticizes the lack of support for Romanian businesses and highlights that Romania is now compared to countries like Botswana and Nigeria. Grindeanu warns that the economic situation may worsen if current policies persist, calling for a government that supports local firms.
