Ingineri români, implicați în programul european IRIS²
A Romanian engineering team is working on IRIS², a major EU space project involving 348 satellites for secure government communications. Thales Alenia Space, in partnership with Eutelsat, has secured contracts worth over 3 billion euros for the project. The satellite network aims to enhance Europe's control over its communications and reduce reliance on external infrastructures. The first 66 satellites are set to launch in 2029, with the remaining 264 following in 2030. Thales Alenia Space will provide essential equipment for the satellites' operations.
