Romanian courts are implementing a new system to regulate the number of cases assigned to judges daily. This system adjusts case volume based on actual processing capacity and sets a standard number of cases per judge according to European data. The daily capacity of each court is determined by the number of registered cases and active judges. Cases are assigned randomly while considering their complexity. If more cases are registered than can be handled, excess cases will be placed on a waiting list. Conversely, if fewer cases are registered, the surplus will carry over to the next day. Urgent cases will be prioritized and counted towards daily capacity, with the aim of maintaining annual norms.
