Inteligența artificială, antrenată să „gândească” precum medicii. A depistat toate probele cu cancer • Newsweek România

A newly developed AI system mimics the diagnostic approach of pathologists, achieving up to 100% detection of cancerous tissue samples. However, it also produced false positives and cannot independently diagnose. Researchers from the University of Pennsylvania trained the AI by analyzing the behavior of eight pathologists, focusing on how they examine tissue samples. The AI identifies potential anomalies before conducting a detailed analysis. In tests, it successfully detected all cancerous samples but had a false positive rate of 15.5%. While promising, the AI cannot replace human diagnosis and is intended to assist pathologists in identifying areas of concern more efficiently.
