Investigația acum disponibilă în România: PET-CT PSMA

The PET-CT PSMA advanced investigation for prostate cancer evaluation is now available in Romania at SANADOR Oncology Center, marking the first access to this examination in the country. This procedure is recommended for initial staging of high-risk prostate cancer or for restaging in cases of suspected biochemical recurrence after curative treatment. Previously, Romanian patients had to travel abroad for this examination. The procedure involves intravenous administration of a special radiotracer that targets PSMA, allowing doctors to identify and locate PSMA-positive lesions in lymph nodes, bones, or other organs, significantly aiding in disease assessment. The results are discussed by a multidisciplinary oncology team to tailor treatment plans. Additionally, the PSMA therapy with lutetium-177 is also available at SANADOR, providing treatment options for selected advanced cases.
