In the first half of 2026, Romania's net investments exceeded 100.5 billion lei, marking a real increase of 11.9%. The most significant growth was seen in new construction works and machinery purchases. In the second quarter alone, investments reached nearly 60 billion lei, driven by construction and transport equipment acquisitions. Specifically, investments in new construction rose by 21.5% compared to the same quarter in 2025, while machinery investments increased by 18.1%. However, other investment expenditures fell by 6.9%. Overall, the first semester showed a 18.5% rise in machinery investments and a 16.9% increase in construction works, while other expenditures dropped by 25.4%. These figures are provisional and reflect real growth, excluding price changes.
