In the first half of 2026, net investments in the national economy reached 100.5 billion lei, marking a real increase of 11.9% compared to the same period in 2025. The second quarter saw a significant rise of 17.8% in net investments, driven by a 21.5% increase in new construction works and an 18.1% rise in machinery and transport equipment. However, other investment expenditures decreased by 6.9%. The growth in net investments is attributed to a notable increase in machinery and new construction, while other investment expenses saw a decline of 25.4%. Net investments are defined as expenditures for creating new fixed assets and modernizing existing ones, including related service costs.
