Lagarde, BCE: "Europenii finanţează, încă o dată, tehnologia disruptivă a timpului nostru: AI-ul. Majoritatea banilor merg către SUA"
Christine Lagarde, the ECB president, warned that Europe might bear costs from the US AI boom without reaping similar benefits. She highlighted that European households hold significant investments in major US tech firms. Lagarde noted that massive US investments in AI, partly funded by debt, are driving long-term bond yields in the US, affecting European borrowing costs. She questioned whether Europe would benefit from the growth associated with AI, emphasizing the need for strong AI models developed on European infrastructure. The disparity in AI model production between the US and Europe was also pointed out.
