Dan highlighted the importance of joint training, infrastructure, and maintenance between the two nations. He linked this collaboration to the security of the entire allied flank from Northern Europe to the Black Sea, noting that Russian threats necessitate a unified European response. Romania's role in the Helsinki Format was also mentioned, with Bucharest hosting the next meeting early next year.
