Romania has seen a significant increase in housing completions in the first half of 2026, with 31,958 units finished, marking a 30% rise from 2025. The second quarter alone accounted for 20,082 completed homes, a nearly 47% increase year-on-year. Urban areas dominated the completions, with 63.9% of new homes located in cities. Most constructions were privately funded, with only 125 units financed publicly. The Bucharest-Ilfov region led in completions, while the South-East region experienced a decline. Overall, the data indicates a strong performance in residential construction across several regions, except for the South-East, which saw a decrease in new homes.
