The funding aims to enhance energy self-sufficiency and reduce electricity costs. Eligible entities include local authorities, public hospitals, and universities. The first program allocates €500 million for new solar energy production and storage systems, while the second offers €150 million for enhancing existing renewable energy facilities with storage solutions. Applications opened on September 11, 2026, and will close on November 6, 2026, or until funds are exhausted. Projects must be completed by December 31, 2029.
