An 11-year-old American violinist, Jayden King, won the first prize at the George Enescu International Competition, becoming the youngest winner in its history. The competition took place at the Romanian Athenaeum, with Francesco Papa and Eun Che Kim taking second and third places, respectively. Jayden performed Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in the final, while the others played Sibelius. He also received the Audience Award and a special prize for the best interpretation of a required piece. Jayden has an impressive background, having started violin lessons at three and performed at prestigious venues. The competition continues until September 19, 2026, focusing on piano sections this year.
