Un europarlamentar român propune un program „SAFE pentru locuințe”: Case ieftine pentru tineri, construite cu bani de la UE
Georgiana Teodorescu, an MEP from AUR, suggests establishing a European funding mechanism for housing construction, similar to the SAFE program. This initiative aims to provide member states with long-term loans at favorable interest rates for building homes for youth and families in need. Teodorescu highlighted the high housing prices in some EU countries and discussed extreme measures taken in Spain regarding housing occupation. She also emphasized the need for simplified construction procedures in Romania to reduce costs. Additionally, she proposed prioritizing the use of European construction materials and labor to lower expenses. Teodorescu noted the rising costs of renovations due to new energy efficiency requirements and acknowledged varying housing issues across EU countries, particularly the challenge for young people in Romania to afford homes.
