Variola ovină face ravagii: Sute de oi ucise în Buzău

Sheep pox continues to spread among sheep farms, leading to the culling of hundreds of animals in one case. The disease has been confirmed in multiple farms, prompting authorities to take drastic measures to control its spread. In one farm, 600 sheep were sacrificed to prevent further transmission. The situation poses significant challenges for sheep breeders, as each outbreak can result in substantial economic losses and movement restrictions. Veterinary authorities are monitoring the outbreaks and implementing control measures. Additionally, Romania is set to receive 1.3 million doses of vaccine from the EU to combat the disease.
