Miklós Seszták's 9 billion is missing not only from his safe but also from his asset declaration

Following the extension of Miklós Seszták's detention, a court revealed he allegedly concealed 9 billion HUF, yet only empty safes were found at his home. As a parliamentary representative, he was required to submit an asset declaration annually, which indicated significant wealth accumulation over the years. However, his latest declaration did not account for the alleged 9 billion, as the total value of his reported assets fell short. Seszták is suspected of accepting bribes totaling 12.6 billion HUF, with charges related to abuse of office and organized crime. He was detained on September 28, and a judge deemed there was a risk he might hide additional assets if released.
