14-year-old was riding a scooter, his mother received a fine

Police in Świętochłowice stopped a 14-year-old riding an electric scooter without a helmet or a bicycle card. His mother acknowledged she was aware of his lack of required permissions but allowed him to ride to school. She received a fine of 100 PLN for the helmet violation and 2000 PLN for permitting him to ride without a bicycle card. Current regulations state that individuals aged 13 and older can ride electric scooters on public roads, while those under 16 must wear helmets. Legislative work is underway to tighten traffic regulations, potentially leading to harsher penalties for scooter-related offenses.
