16 minutes of silent broadcast on Sunday by Serbian public television on the second anniversary of the Novi Sad tragedy

On the second anniversary of the Novi Sad train station tragedy, Serbian public television (RTV) will broadcast a special program from the site. Milan Szrdics, the editor of RTV's Novi Sad office, will host the show, which aims to honor the 16 victims with a moment of silence. The RTV is currently in a transitional phase following the resignation of its director after a recent election defeat. The tragedy, which occurred on November 1, 2024, resulted in significant public protests demanding accountability for the incident, which was linked to corruption and irregularities in investments. The student movement that emerged from these protests recently won early parliamentary elections.
