The restoration cost 18 billion, but the Danube Refinery is again operating at full capacity

MOL Zrt. has restarted the AV-3 unit of the Dunai Refinery after nearly a year of shutdown due to a fire. The facility was closed on October 20 last year and underwent extensive repairs costing 18 billion HUF. Key upgrades included the installation of new pumps and pipelines, as well as modern safety systems compliant with API standards. The refinery, which is Hungary's only oil processing facility, plays a crucial role in the country's fuel supply, contributing nearly 47% of its distillation capacity. Despite the shutdown, MOL managed to maintain fuel supply in Hungary over the past year. The restart of AV-3 is expected to significantly impact production.
