The number of real estate transactions jumped by 20 percent in October
In October, the real estate market saw a significant increase in transactions due to the end of the Otthon Start program, with 11,277 properties sold, a 20.2% rise from September. However, this figure is still 2.1% lower than the same period last year. Mortgage loans for residential purposes amounted to 225 billion HUF, down 5.9% from September and 12.6% compared to October 2025 data from the MNB. The previous year saw a spike in loan agreements due to the launch of the Otthon Start program, which had a notable impact on market activity.
