2026 US midterm elections: Democrats' hopes of retaking the Senate run through Maine

Maine is experiencing a surge of Democratic campaigning as key figures visit to support Troy Jackson in the Senate race. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently joined the effort, following visits from Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Amy Klobuchar. The Democrats aim to regain control of the Senate by targeting Republican Susan Collins' seat, which has been held for nearly 30 years. Ocasio-Cortez emphasized the importance of the race for working-class issues during her speech in Portland.
