István Kapitány announced a 25 billion forint export support program

The new export strategy aims to enhance the capabilities of over 200 Hungarian companies, focusing on market entry and distribution. Currently, only about 5% of domestic SMEs export, with most export revenues generated by foreign-owned firms. The goal is to position Hungary as a knowledge-intensive country that not only assembles but also develops and exports Hungarian knowledge, products, and services globally. The ministry's background institutions, including HEPA and EXIM Bank, will collaborate on financing. Recent leadership changes at these organizations were noted, including the appointment of Zalán Kiss as CEO of EXIM Bank. A budget of 25 billion HUF is allocated for this initiative, part of the 2027 budget proposal, which also includes funding for utility cost reductions and a home modernization program.
