260 Kortrijk students donate blood on their campus: "I'm doing it for the goodie bag"

In Kortrijk, 260 students registered to donate blood, with 140 already donating at KULAK. The Red Cross expects another 120 students at Vives tomorrow. The initiative aims to encourage lifelong donations among students, who receive a goodie bag as an incentive. Jan Poté from the Red Cross emphasizes the importance of blood donations, noting that 70% of people will need blood at some point. The strategy appears effective, with one-third of registrants being new donors. The Red Cross is pleased with this year's donations, aiming to match last spring's total of 6,000 donations this fall. The Bloedserieus campaign has been a staple in student cities since 1990.
