After 28 years and 50 thousand kilometers of walking, world traveler Karl Bushby has returned home
Karl Bushby, a British adventurer, has completed his 28-year, 50,000-kilometer journey from South America to the UK. Upon his return, he was welcomed by family, including his son Adam and granddaughter, whom he had never met. Bushby began his trek in November 1998 from Punta Arenas, Chile, adhering to two personal rules: he could not return to the UK until the journey was complete and could not use any transportation. His journey included challenging moments, such as crossing the Darién Gap, navigating the frozen Bering Strait, and swimming across the English Channel. He has collaborated with filmmaker Werner Herzog on a documentary and is working on a second book about his travels.
