The president of a football club in Zala may have embezzled 35 million forints
A president of a football club in Zala County faces charges for budget fraud, failing to account for over 35 million HUF in funding received from 2017 to 2022. The club president applied for support for sports development programs through the Hungarian Football Association, but did not submit necessary documentation for expenses. Despite receiving over 65 million HUF in total support, he only accounted for 21.2 million HUF and voluntarily returned 720,000 HUF. The Hungarian Football Association also demanded the return of 8.1 million HUF due to unlawful use of funds. The Zalaegerszeg District Prosecutor's Office has charged him with budget fraud for failing to fulfill accounting obligations.
