350 species have been discovered so far by Páll-Gergely Barna, the Hungarian snail man

A recent discovery has led to a new snail species being named after a researcher, marking the 17th instance of such an honor for him. He has previously had a mite and a bug named after him, primarily due to his contributions to scientific articles rather than as a collector. The record for species named after an individual is held by Zoltán Kaszab, who had over 500 species named in his honor. The researcher has discovered around 350 snail species, with numbers increasing annually, and has described numerous genera and families, focusing mainly on Southeast Asian snails. He expressed pride in his achievements but humorously noted his concern for the snails bearing his name.
