5,200 bodycams for GNR and PSP by 2027
The Portuguese government plans to distribute 5,200 body cameras to the GNR and PSP by early 2027, as announced by Secretary of State Telmo Correia. The cameras will be allocated based on operational needs, primarily to intervention units. This initiative is part of a broader plan to acquire around 10,000 body cameras by 2026, with a total investment of five million euros, although the public tender for the management platform has faced delays due to challenges.
