500 Folgore paratroopers to be deployed in Milan, drone specialists also

Approximately 500 paratroopers from the Folgore Brigade will be deployed in Milan due to recent youth riots. Their mission, part of the 'Safe Streets' project, will last until the end of the year. They will not have judicial police powers following an objection from President Sergio Mattarella. The Prefect of Milan will decide their operational use, which may include patrolling and surveillance. The deployment may also involve drone specialists, but there is no required ratio between paratroopers and regular law enforcement officers.
