500 witnesses, nearly four thousand charges

An investigation into irregularities at clinics in Zabrze and Tychy revealed that false information was recorded in medical documentation regarding environmental therapy. The police, under the supervision of the prosecutor's office, found that from January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2021, a company manager instructed employees to create misleading medical records to justify reimbursements from the National Health Fund (NFZ). Approximately 500 witnesses were interviewed, and extensive medical documentation was seized. The co-owner of the company faces charges related to fraud against the NFZ amounting to over 163,500 PLN and has admitted guilt, expressing a willingness to accept punishment. The prosecutor's office has requested a conviction without trial, but the specific penalty remains undisclosed.
