6 out of 10 nuclear companies delay investments due to uncertainty over energy policy
Companies in the nuclear sector are urging the government to establish a clear energy policy, as 60% are currently delaying investments due to uncertainty. A survey by Agoria reveals that Belgium's nuclear sector, which employs over 8,000 people and generates more than 9 billion euros, sees potential for growth if the government clarifies its plans. Bart Steukers from Agoria emphasizes the need for specific decisions regarding the construction of nuclear plants, including the type and timeline. With a clear strategy, the sector could potentially generate an additional 3 billion euros and create 500 new jobs within two years.
