Hackers are paying 800,000 to those who were left without care due to a hospital attack

On October 26, the University of New Mexico's health sciences IT teams detected a cyber threat, leading to the rerouting of emergency traffic and postponement of surgeries. A hacker group, BYOD, claimed to have breached 36,000 computers and databases. The next day, they offered free decryption keys for hospital devices while retaining stolen data. They apologized to patients and promised compensation for those affected. Despite their claims of morality, concerns remain about their true intentions. Two days post-attack, all systems were operational again.
