Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky flew with military aircraft for 800 million forints
Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, Hungary's defense minister, spent 794 million HUF on official trips using military aircraft from 2022 to 2026. This amount is six times higher than all other travel expenses combined, including accommodations and non-military flights. Initially, it was reported that he stayed in a luxury hotel during a NATO summit in Madrid, but complete cost details were not available at that time. The military aircraft expenses are covered by the Hungarian military's operational budget, not the Ministry of Defense. The ministry suggested obtaining specific figures from various military units, and the Szentgyörgyi Dezső Air Brigade eventually provided the requested data.
