905-meter escalator in China: 150 forints for a ticket, the experience is probably priceless
The Wushan Goddess Escalator, a 905-meter long escalator near the Yangtze River, significantly eases daily commutes for locals by replacing a strenuous climb of 1,136 steps. Opened in February, it features 21 escalators and various transport elements, reducing travel time from over an hour to about 20 minutes. The construction faced challenges due to steep terrain and narrow streets, with equipment supplied by the Swiss Schindler Group. The escalator's usage has been high, with over 1.3 million trips reported in just one month, indicating strong community support.
