The new cancer vaccine works with 99% efficiency
Researchers at the Mayo Clinic have tested a promising vaccine targeting pancreatic cancer, specifically the KRAS gene mutations. In a phase 2 trial, nearly all participants developed a strong immune response against these mutations. The vaccine, camupepimut, aims to train the immune system to recognize and attack cancer cells with specific KRAS mutations. Results showed a significant increase in T-cell responses among vaccinated patients. While the study does not confirm the vaccine's ability to prevent cancer recurrence, the findings are encouraging, suggesting potential improvements in survival rates. Future phase 3 trials are planned to further investigate the vaccine's efficacy and its use alongside other cancer treatments.
