The Australian mushroom killer will die in prison
Erin Patterson will remain in prison for life after an Australian court denied her parole due to the premeditated nature of her crime. Patterson was convicted of murdering four relatives using poisonous mushrooms during a family lunch. She was sentenced to life imprisonment in September 2025 and will not be eligible for release even after serving 33 years. The court's decision reflects the severity of her actions, which were described as particularly cold-blooded. Only one other woman in Australia has received a similar life sentence for murder.
