The British intelligence has lost thousands of data carriers containing secret information

The UK's GCHQ has failed to account for thousands of encrypted data storage devices, according to a report by IPCO. These devices, including USB drives and hard drives, contain classified information collected under the Investigatory Powers Act. The oversight body noted that the GCHQ had previously reported missing numerous storage devices, some potentially containing highly classified information. The GCHQ acknowledged the shortcomings in their tracking system for removable storage and committed to implementing all recommendations from the report to enhance security measures.
