More than half of the British would rejoin the EU
A recent Ipsos survey indicates that a significant majority of Britons support rejoining the European Union, with support rising since May. Among likely voters, 63% would vote in favor of rejoining, while 34% oppose it. Young voters show the highest support, particularly those who voted for the Labour Party. Prime Minister Andy Burnham expressed a desire for the UK to rejoin the EU during his lifetime but stated no immediate steps would be taken during the current parliamentary term. He has suggested exploring closer ties with the EU, including potential full membership or joining the customs union.
