The Budget Council has no objections to the first budget of the Tisza government

The Budget Council has unanimously approved the draft budget of Prime Minister Péter Magyar's government, expressing no fundamental objections. The Council welcomed the autumn submission of the budget, noting that recent years have seen uncertainties during spring-summer planning. It projected GDP growth of 1.7% for 2026 and 2.4% for 2027, supported by stable domestic consumption and high employment, although global economic risks remain. The Council emphasized the need to reduce the deficit below 3% in the future. Key budget proposals include a reduction in personal income tax on minimum wage, a significant increase in family support payments, and salary increases for healthcare and social workers. The Otthon Start program will be replaced by the Wekerle Plus loan program.
