The government is reviewing the major international sporting events funded by the state held in the past four years.

A Hungarian government decree mandates an audit of state-funded international sports events held between 2022 and 2025. Interior Minister Gábor Pósfai is tasked with reviewing these events alongside Finance Minister András Kármán. The audit will assess the preparation, ordering, financing, and accounting of major sports events. Additionally, the minister must evaluate findings from an external audit for events planned in 2025 and determine further investigation areas. A budget proposal for the audit is due by the end of November, with the review to be completed by the end of March.
