According to the Polish president, the violation of constitutional order is the suspension of the leaders of the Constitutional Court
Polish President Karol Nawrocki condemned the suspension of the Constitutional Tribunal's leaders as a violation of constitutional order and called for urgent talks with parliamentary parties. He returned from Senegal to address the situation, emphasizing threats to national security. Nawrocki demanded the withdrawal of police from the tribunal's premises and declared that certain judges were not legitimate. The tribunal's leadership was temporarily taken over by Anna Korwin-Piotrowska, whose legitimacy is disputed. The ongoing conflict over judicial appointments has hindered the tribunal's operations, risking its budget for 2027. U.S. Ambassador Tom Rose warned of escalating tensions, while Poland's ambassadors in Bucharest and Beijing resigned, citing illegal attempts to seize control of the tribunal.
